Saturday the 22nd of October, the northern portion of our electric system experienced an outage beginning around 7:30 am. The outage was on the Bonneville Power Administration's system that feeds power to the PUD via Sherman Pass. We were first notified that it was the result of equipment failure on the East side of Sherman. It was later determined by BPA that the equipment failure was caused by a large tree that was fell into the power lines by a firewood cutter. The picture, courtesy of BPA staff, tells the story. Power was restored around noon thanks to BPA's quick response.
